Alright, here it is! The second part of the lessons I wish I would have learned sooner. In case you’re just joining us at this article, this article series contains the lessons that would have made my life a lot easier if I learned them faster than I did. I hope they help! If you haven’t read the first part of this article, you can find it HERE.
The first lesson today was one that took me the longest to accept. It was how to trust myself and follow my heart when I can’t see how all pieces come together. I am a planner- remember? I like to see how and why everything works together. There are times when you do not get this luxury.
These are the times when you have to trust yourself and the process and know that one day, it will all make sense looking back. I don’t have an easy solution other than to accept what you don’t know or understand and keep having faith that everything will come together as it needs to.
The next lesson I learned is to start where you are. You can build or learn anything from where you are. If you only remember one lesson, I hope this is it. It is never too late to change or try something new. If you’re not happy with where your life is, there is always an opportunity to change and make things different. Always. Again, it very well could not be an easy path and may push your limits. Here’s the thing- your limits can be pushed. That’s just it. We all can go beyond what we believe we can. I realized I could change my mind about my limits and my life changed.
The final lesson of this series (for now at least) is to be realistic about what can be accomplished in a day. There were many days I would go to bed disappointed that I didn’t get everything done that I wanted to. After months of this, I looked back at everything that I had done since I left my job and I was shocked. It’s not about what you get done in a day- it’s about the habits you make that lead to your goals. Great things are not built over night. Here is one of my favorite quotes about this:
I hope that you enjoyed this series. Please share the lessons you wished you learned earlier in the comments!
This is absolutely true, too many people think they’re too old or too unfit or too busy to make progress but the simplest little thing can be the start of an amazing routine that can lead to an amazing life.
Yes! I’m a planner too and sometimes get caught up in the details or in making things perfect before launching them into the world. But sometimes a little trust and a lot of faith go a long way!
